Longing for Autumn...
Monday, November 02, 2015
I’ve been longing for autumn ever since I was little. I live in a tropical country where we only have rainy and sunny season so I never experienced autumn in my whole life. Ever. Seeing autumn from movies and photographs is just surreal, it makes me want to book a ticket and fly to USA or UK in the midst of September or end of October to celebrate Halloween. I want to experience it all! The crisp breeze of cold air rushing in my cheek. Colorful leaves falling from the trees. Walking on crunchy leaves at the park. Sweaters and blazers, scarf on my neck, socks on my toes and boots to warm me up. Cuddling under the blanket on a comfy bed. Smores and bonfires. Hot chocolate or coffee while reading a good book. Lovely candles. Smell of cinnamon. Pumpkin pie and carvings on pumpkin and trick or treats during Halloween.

I also love autumn! There is something in Autumn that just looking at the photos, it makes me feel cozy and home-y. I love the fashion choices during autumn. Nothing can compare to wearing sweaters and plaid shirts, boots and dark lipsticks while strolling the cold, warm-colored leaf-y streets. Someday oh someday, we'll get to experience Autumn.
ReplyDeleteYou've got amazing choice of pictures!

I totally agree! It's sad that we don't have fall season here in our country, hopefully inshaallah we'll experience it.
DeleteJust like you, I also long for Autumn! When looking at photos of friends who migrated in countries with Autumn, I get envies all over when I look at the color of the leaves. They're all sorts of lovely! I also long for Winter! Haha Haven't seen or touched legit snow, ever!

AHhh same here, I'm heart broken every time I see my friends enjoying fall in other countries. :(
DeleteSame here, ate Joyce! I'm forever a fan of autumn. Haha. I think it's because of the breeze and yellowing leaves that lure me to visit some countries in this season. It's a lovely time to sport black on black nerd fashion, too! Hahaha. Just saw some photos of my friends in Korea where it's currently autumn, and I'm really jealoussss :(

As in! I love oranger-y, red, and black color scheme.. Hopefully soon we can experience it too. If only plane tickets are affordable haaay :(
DeleteShades of brown are my current faves (and I think they will be for a long time), and autumn just hits that sweet spot... How I wish I could experience that season! :)

Same here. If only we have autumn here in the Philippines
DeleteI love autumn, too. The city I live in is at the shore, so autumn doesn't really arrive here. My grandparents live at the countryside & their side of the area has this beautiful season. I love going there when harvesting starts by the end of October to witness this season.
ReplyDeleteI would also LOOOOOOVE to experience autumn! <3
ReplyDeleteI hope I get to experience someday!

What I like most about autumn is autumn fashion! I wanna wear those cute dresses with leggings and boots. That's why I want to move in another country with four seasons on it!

ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the 'Things-I-Want-To-Do-Before-I-Die' list. HAHA.
Uhhh, now I really wish my friend's trip to south korea will push through so I can come with her (fingers crossed).
But anyway if it doesn't, I really hope and pray that we can all experience autumn someday.

Hopefully soon, Almera. :) Oh! I really do hope you can push it through. Can't wait to read all about it :)

I agree, living in the PH is like living inside an oven ahaha
DeleteThis makes me think about my autumn experience in South Korea! It was a surreal experience! I hope you get to experience it, too! South Korea tourist visa is pretty easy to get, so you might consider traveling there next year. :)
ReplyDeleteGood to know! Not much of a Kpop fan but i'll consider it, maybe next time after traveling around Philippines :)
DeleteAutumn is definitely highly romanticized :P It's one of my favourite seasons and I have such high expectations for it! On the other hand, I've always wanted to visit somewhere tropical. I have visited before, but I can't get enough of it! I remember when I was little, all I wanted was to go to Hawaii :P -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's
ReplyDeleteCan we change lives for a day? hahaha. Thanks for sharing, Audrey! :) I hope you'll have a vacay somewhere tropical soon :)
DeleteSalam!.Me too Joyce and the rest of those who comments...I always love autumn. I don't know why, but there's something magical or that home-y feelings with autumn. Though like you I never also experienced it but still I want autumn season, as in!..hehe...Thank you also Mikyu Maglasang for the info about the visa and the autumn in South Korea.. =D
ReplyDeleteI've been longing for all the seasons that we don't have in the PH. My favorite is Autumn. If I get approved for a Korean VISA next year, I might just experience Autumn. I'm so excited! Hope you can experience Autumn, too, Joyce!

Why can't there be Autumn in the Philippines? :( I'm inlove with Autumn as well and would love to experience the leaves changing colors. I remember a koreandrama I used to watch and it was filmed during the Autumn season. I'm currently living in another country and we do have Autumn but it wasn't cold enough for the leaves to change color which makes me upset. Hahaha! Anyway, I recently discovered your blog and I find it amazing. Keep writing new stuff and more power to your blog.
