Bits & Pieces: November to December 2014
Sunday, December 21, 2014From teaching and being sick for a week, life has been quite distressing. Amidst, I am still thankful for the little wonderful moments that happened and came this month and last month. Here are the highlights:
- Plant shopping and spontaneous bonding with my friend, Mariel. I must say I was in awe with those succulents but they’re so expensive. huhu. But I bought a smaller one for an affordable price. hehe
- My Halloween reads consist of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Pecuiliar Children and Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. Plus i’m lovin the skulls deco I bought from Daiso. It brought me to the Halloween feels!
- Going back to my first love: Reading! And getting more and more in love with it.
- Poetry filled my mind with positivism one afternoon. I got lucky to score this Desiderata book in a secondhand book shop. Yey!
- My fairy garden finally comes to life! I just can’t believe that it’s possible and I was really giddy and ecitd. I am forever proud of this work of mine. :)
- Lullabies finally arrived in my doorstep and I can’t stop being mesmerized by Lang Leav’s words. Thank you @bookfordables!
- For long I stopped myself from downloading an ebook of Isla and the Happily Ever After tho it was very (very very very) tempting. I just have to get a copy for myself. I… Just… Have… To.. The wait was worth it! I read it twice and believe me I still have a hangover from reading this book! I love ya Stephanie Perkins!
- A surprise came! I received a handwritten letter from my cousin in Iloilo. I just love receiving surprise letters and postcards. I can’t wait to send her a letter too!
- I received a bunch of postcards too from different people around the globe. With the internet and chat sites, I think it’s really important that we go back to the basics of communicating. It’s just lovely receiving handwritten letters, yeah? DOn’t you agree? :)
How was everyone’s holiday so far? :)

Wow I'm glad I have stumbled upon your blog! I found this through Corinth's blog! It looks really interesting especially this post! I've been eyeing that Ms. Peregrine's book for a long time and I want to finally get a copy for myself! Also, that Stephanie Perkins book seems really good too!!
ReplyDeleteBtw, are succulents that expensive in GenSan? There's a place here in Manila where you can get them 3 pieces for P100! I got one myself but it died due to the extreme weather, but my cacti are still surviving!
Did you make that fairy garden yourself? That looks really good too! And you're lucky to get those postcards and that snailmail! Too bad philpost is a big disappointment sometimes, so I had to stop sending snailmails to my boyfriend!
Lastly, you're lucky to have found a desiderata book! I thought it was a CD though!
Thank you so much, Mars! you don't know how much you made me smile tonight. Welcome to my humble abode. I'm glad that you're having fun here. Anyway, succulents here costs 50 pesos and up. You're soooo lucky it's cheap there. hihi Yes I made the fairy garden but it's dead now. hahaha
